Engaiging chess

This page was created for a single purpose: to say a few words about the author of the project as a chess teacher. A person in love with his work.

My name is Igor. I am a usual fellow - a father of some kids. As of today, I do not make a living from chess. My main job frees up some time reserves to do what I love.

I became interested in chess back in school and since then have played from time to time in the company of friends and colleagues. With the development of modern chess applications and the uprising of chess video bloggers, my interest has grown significantly.

When my children were born, I naturally took on their education and involvement in this game myself. It was then that the formation of my individual teaching style began, The style which I am ready to present below.

In my classes, I use a variety of approaches:

MINI GAMES

These activities keep children engaged and prevent boredom. They also help them focus while practicing specific pieces and common techniques.

MNEMONIC TECHNIQUES

I use targeted exercises to train short-term memory, improving spatial thinking and board awareness.

MENTAL ARITHMETIC

We learn to calculate in our heads — everything from the number of moves to a current advantage rate and potential exchanges profit. This builds concentration and helps develop strategic thinking.

PLAY AND FUN VIBES

In my classes, the game remains a game and entertainment. My approach is fundamentally different from traditional chess schools. I do not train sports masters. I engage the child's brain with interesting exercises in a playful manner, smoothly immersing students into the amazing and vast world of chess.

HOMEWORK

A mandatory element. Begins after the first three or four lessons. These are simple diagrams that I send to the chat according to the student's level. Children can solve these puzzles themselves or together with their parents. The effect will not be long in coming if overcoming and discussing the puzzles becomes a family tradition. For example, during each breakfast.

TOURNAMENTS

The role of chess tournaments in the learning process is hard to overestimate. They are an incentive and motivation. I try to hold tournaments among my beginner chess players just a few months after the start of training. By this time, children already know not only how to play but also how to win. For many students, the desire to win gives a strong impetus to their subsequent learning.

OWN CHESS SETS

Recently, I have been conducting chess lessons using the unique designed chess sets. Children of all ages really like them. Perhaps because my young students participated in the creation process. You can view all these sets here (there will be a link).

LOCATIONS

I conduct lessons where my students are. I find convenient premises nearby. I usually do arrange everything by myself . Ramenskoye and Zhukovsky are the cities in Moscow region I do consider first.

FIRST LESSON IS FREE

Relax. You don't have to pay in order to try.
